Vehicle Powertrain Calibration Engineer

Joining the AVL team in México, you will be responsible for carrying out vehicle powertrain calibration activities in engine test beds and vehicle test benches.

Responsibilities:

• Solve ECU-related issues during engine test bed testing of internal combustion engines and hybrid powertrains.
• Adapt calibration data to fulfil emissions limits, drivability concerns, fuel consumption targets, performance targets, etc.
• Steer development and implementation of improvement measures to avoid ECU-related issues and improve KPIs for engine or hybrid system operation.

Profile:

• Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, physics or comparable studies.
• Genuine interest and knowledge in internal combustion engines and hybrid powertrains.
• Knowledge in automotive electronics is desirable.
• Knowledge of automotive communication systems (CAN, etc.) is desirable.
• Ability to investigate root cause of issues, analyse data and formally present and report testing results.
• High level of coordination, communication and team skills.
• Good knowledge of English.
• German desirable, but not compulsory.
