Technical Sourcing Manager, Network Hardware

We are seeking a Global Commodity Sourcing Manager to lead our commercial hardware engagement and strategic silicon procurement for Cloudflare's 200+ data centers. You will drive ambitious goals around technology cost, quality, and supply while partnering with key internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Sourcing: Own procurement efforts across network hardware, including routers, switches and interconnect commodities.
• Vendor Negotiation: Develop long-term Total Cost of Ownership targets and lead complex, multi-party negotiations to hit vital supply goals.
• Supplier Quality: Oversee adherence to delivery terms of network maintenance and support contracts , manage yearly contracts with most up-to-date asset inventory lists.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Introduce robust evaluation processes (e.g., RFX, QBR) for vendors and partner closely with hardware engineering on new technologies.
• Deployment Oversight: Coordinate global infrastructure installations by managing inflow of supply from hardware manufacturers against latest worldwide deployment schedules.
• Process Optimization: Aggressively seek automation opportunities and assist with the definition of consistent physical deployment processes across all datacenter regions.

Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

• Industry Experience: 5 years of experience working with networking equipment OEMs.
• Operational Execution: Direct experience executing complex datacenter infrastructure projects in a rapidly changing environment.
• Technical & Commercial Acumen: Deep understanding of the commercial benefits of hardware technologies, paired with practical knowledge of physical datacenter networking.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex details to both technical and non-technical, internal and external stakeholders.
• Innovative Mindset: Demonstrated "AI-native curiosity" with an instinct to spot normalized problems and create solutions using the latest tools.
• AI Tool Proficiency: Basic experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., generative AI, LLMs, or AI-driven data analytics) to optimize daily workflows, summarize vendor contracts, or accelerate data analysis.
• Analytical Background: An engineering or heavy analytical background to support deep-dive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) modeling.

Compensation: Estimated annual salary of €41,000 - €56,000 for Portugal-based hires.
