LSEG is seeking an experienced Technology Procurement professional to join our Group Procurement team, supporting our Technology Infrastructure category with a focus on Database, Middleware and other Enterprise Software.
This is a highly visible role responsible for shaping sourcing strategies, leading sophisticated commercial negotiations, working with senior engineering leaders to support LSEG's global technology strategy. The role manages a significant portfolio of strategic suppliers and technologies that underpin critical business services across the organisation.
Working closely with Infrastructure Engineering, Database Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Operations, Finance, Legal and Vendor Management teams, you will help drive commercial value, innovation, resilience and long-term technology outcomes. This position offers the opportunity to influence major engineering investment decisions, engage with leading software vendors and drive LSEG's ongoing technology transformation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement category strategies across database, middleware and other software.
- Shape sourcing and supplier strategies that align with technology roadmaps, business priorities and market developments.
- Optimise spend, simplify the supplier landscape and improve commercial outcomes across the technology estate.
- Lead complex sourcing initiatives, contract negotiations and commercial discussions with leading technology vendors.
- Manage high-value renewals and commercial optimisation programmes, including licence rationalisation, subscription strategies and support model reviews.
- Build trusted relationships across LSEG and act as a strategic commercial advisor for infrastructure software investments and supplier engagements.
Requirements:
- Significant experience in Technology Procurement, Category Management or Strategic Sourcing, ideally covering infrastructure software, databases, middleware or enterprise platforms.
- Proven track record of negotiating complex software agreements, renewals and licensing arrangements with global technology suppliers.
- Strong understanding of software commercial models, including subscription, SaaS, perpetual, consumption-based and enterprise licensing structures.
- Ability to translate technical requirements into effective commercial strategies and recommendations.
- Strong management and influencing skills, with experience engaging senior engineering and business leaders.
