Senior Software Engineer(AI/ML), Trust

As a Senior Software Engineer (AI/ML) on the Trust team at Airbnb, you will play a crucial role in shaping the technical vision and delivering flexible, efficient, and scalable solutions to strengthen our Trust defenses.

The Trust team is responsible for protecting the Airbnb community and platform from fraud, ensuring hosts, guests, homes, and experiences meet high standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Work with large-scale structured and unstructured data to build and improve novel ML systems, product integrations, and performance optimizations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify opportunities for business impact, refine requirements for AI/ML models, and drive engineering decisions.
• Work closely with other trust defense and platform teams to tackle the changing landscape of fraud attacks.
• Hands-on productionize and operate AI/ML solutions and pipelines at scale.
• Lead, mentor, and grow an enthusiastic, collaborative AI/ML culture within the organization.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of industry experience in backend/platform engineering with a BE/B.Tech degree, preferably in CS or equivalent qualification.
• Strong programming skills in Python/Java or equivalent, with solid data engineering foundations.
• Understanding of ML best practices, algorithms, and domains.
• Experience with 3 or more of these technologies: Tensorflow, PyTorch, Kubernetes, Spark, Airflow/Kubeflow, Kafka/Spark/Ray, Hive.
• Experience in building observability for AI systems with automated alerting, dashboards, and SLO management.
• Industry experience building end-to-end Machine Learning infrastructure and/or building and productionizing Machine Learning models is a plus.
