Description
Grafana Labs is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Grafana Search & Storage squad. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing Grafana's next-generation storage layer and contributing to the company's open-source culture.
The Grafana Search & Storage squad is responsible for developing Grafana's next-generation storage layer, Unified Storage, which enables developers to build innovative applications using a Kubernetes-inspired Operator pattern to interact with data directly. The team also manages two essential features for discovery and organization: Search, the unified engine for finding and querying all Grafana data, and Folders, for hierarchical content management.
Responsibilities:
- Take an active role in influencing the roadmap and career objectives
- Work with the team to deliver new features and iterate on existing ones
- Drive projects from initial ideation to operations
- Embrace the open-source culture and contribute to other projects
- Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems
- Participate in on-call rotations and take ownership of services
- Mentor and support other team members
- Collaborate with the team and communicate effectively
Requirements:
- Motivated self-starter with a bias towards action
- Customer-focused with a passion for creating intuitive products
- Solid experience with Go, Rust, Python, or similar programming languages
- Demonstrated knowledge of large distributed systems
- Experience with delivering projects from requirements to shipping
- Experience with developing software that runs in the Cloud or systems engineering
- Experience writing clean, robust, and performant software
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Grafana and Prometheus
- Familiarity with being on-call and performing operations/SRE tasks

Compensation:
- CAD $164,490 - $197,389 per year
