Description
Synopsys software engineers play a crucial role in Electronic Design Automation (EDA), developing and maintaining software used in chip design, verification, and manufacturing. As a Staff Engineer in R&D Engineering, you will design, develop, test, and debug EDA software products and related technologies. Your work will focus on enhancing the performance and capacity of the IC Validator tool, analyzing performance issues, optimizing algorithms, and leveraging machine learning methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and debug EDA software products in areas like digital design, custom design, and verification.
- Analyze performance issues using log files, performance graphing tools, and code inspection.
- Optimize C/C++ algorithms through techniques like binning, graph traversal, and memory management.
- Utilize threading and distributed processing to enhance scalability.
- Ensure efficient data storage using compression techniques and efficient data representation.
- Conduct performance testing, coordinate code drops, analyze results, and refine code.
- Apply machine learning to optimize graphs and schedule tasks for distributed jobs.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to resolve mutual problems.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
- 6 months of experience in distributed task scheduling and load balancing.
- Background in C/C++, Linux, distributed processing, threading, scheduling, performance analysis, code debuggers, grid systems, and file compression techniques.
Pay Range and Benefits:
- Base salary range: $153,882.56 to $180,000 per year.
