Description
As a Staff Software Engineer on Airbnb's Cloud Infrastructure team, you will play a crucial role in developing and operating the foundational platforms and cloud environment that power Airbnb.
Your primary focus will be on delivering and operating components such as developer APIs and CLIs, Kubernetes infrastructure, autoscaling and capacity management tools, and cloud infrastructure automation.
You will innovate and build cutting-edge cloud-native infrastructure using public cloud technologies, deliver secure and efficient frameworks and platforms, optimize and enhance existing systems, and improve system availability.
You will collaborate with a diverse team of talented infrastructure engineers to establish a solid foundation for Airbnb's technological growth.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and operate large-scale technical projects
- Work with public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offerings
- Utilize containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Implement industry best practices in distributed systems
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration
Requirements:
- 10+ years of industry experience with a BS/Masters and 2+ years with a PhD, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience
- Proven track record in developing and operating large-scale technical projects
- Expertise with public cloud providers and IaaS offerings
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and containerization technologies
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
