Description
Electronic Arts is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join their backend applications team. The successful candidate will work with developers and researchers to integrate new technologies into their core architecture.
As a Senior Software Developer, you will:
- Collaborate with motor engine developers, integrating creator-focused systems into the core architecture to create generative creation workflows
- Develop flexible, resilient, highly scalable web services available globally to serve millions of players
- Combine best practices and original security techniques to protect user data and prevent cheating
- Implement and optimize service deployment and ensure strategies maximize uptime
- Design and implement APIs and protocols that are consistent, formal, and testable
- Solve technical problems iteratively as requirements change during game development
- Prepare and review technical design documents and API specifications
- Maintain automated test suites that validate backend application services
- Contribute to 24/7 support for real-time environments
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 7 years of hands-on coding experience
- Experience developing and supporting scalable web services hosted by a public cloud provider like AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Expertise with Python and Postgres
- Experience managing large-scale systems and features from design to deployment, including real-time support
- Developed high-quality software that can be tested
- Worked with designers and client engineers to add features and improve APIs iteratively
- Developed APIs for tools and products requiring updates without downtime
- Conducted load testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization for web services
- Worked with software that requires developing and optimizing queries and database access patterns
- Able to develop multiple ephemeral prototypes and iterate quickly
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab
- Experience with AI coding agents like Claude Code
In terms of compensation, the salary range is:
- British Columbia: $141,400 - $204,400 CAD
- California: $165,000 - $256,000 USD
