Description

As a Manufacturing Test Engineer on the Drones team, you will be working directly with Anduril's Bolt, Anvil, and Ghost drones. You will be responsible for ensuring that the systems are tested to stringent standards, consistently shipping high-quality products to customers, and meeting production throughput requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain ownership of test activities in production and ensure production test flow.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting efforts and resolve complex electrical issues found during testing.
  • Maintain test capabilities across the manufacturing value stream.
  • Improve and sustain existing test systems to enhance automation, consistency, total cycle time, and test coverage.
  • Generate test work instructions and train technicians on equipment use.
  • Develop a library of common failure modes with troubleshooting guides.
  • Determine root causes of product failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to support customer returns and failure analysis.
  • Contribute feedback to early-stage test design for new products.
  • Analyze test data and provide detailed reports.
  • Optimize test strategies for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience in manufacturing test and product sustainment.
  • Familiarity with Linux, Ubuntu, LabVIEW, and NixOS.
  • Experience with contract manufacturers in PCBA/electronic assemblies testing.
  • Knowledge of PCBA testing standards and methods.
  • Familiarity with electronics test equipment.
  • Strong root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with PLM, MES, and TES systems.
  • Experience working on projects integrating electrical, mechanical, and software/firmware systems.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Pursuing a Master's degree in related fields.
  • Familiarity with Python, LabVIEW, and/or MATLAB.
  • Experience with test automation, PCBA design, and mechanical design.
  • Experience with computer hardware communication protocols.
  • Experience with ESS-related testing.
  • Active Security Clearance.
