Senior Compensation Partner

The Senior Compensation Partner is a core member of Gusto's People team, responsible for building and scaling compensation programs that attract, retain, and reward top talent.

This role exists to bring rigor, fairness, and strategic clarity to how Gusto thinks about pay , operating at the intersection of data, policy, and people.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and implement compensation programs, policies, and procedures
• Partner with HR Business Partners, Finance, Legal, and business leaders to ensure market reality and alignment with values
• Lead annual compensation cycles and own the end-to-end process
• Perform market analyses and compensation studies using survey data
• Use AI tools and automation to accelerate analysis and reduce planning and reporting load
• Design and maintain scalable compensation workflows and tooling
• Build and maintain compensation dashboards and data visualizations
• Craft competitive offers to attract top-tier talent
• Ensure ongoing compliance with pay regulations

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in Compensation, Total Rewards, or a related analytical function
• AI fluency and hands-on experience using AI tools or automation
• Experience running compensation cycles and building scalable programs
• Survey benchmarking fluency with Radford/Aon, Mercer, or comparable tools
• Systems-first orientation and experience building durable workflows
• Strong analytical foundation and advanced spreadsheet skills
• Knowledge of compensation and employment law
• Clear, concise communicator who can translate complex pay data into narratives and recommendations

We offer a cash compensation amount between $181,000 - $223,573/year for San Francisco.
