Description
About the Role
As an Account Manager at AI Acquisition, you will be taking over an existing book of established client relationships. These clients have been with the company for months and have expectations built on their experience. Your job is to keep them progressing, retained, and expanding. This involves understanding where each client is in their business, what's working, what's stuck, and what they need next.
This is a consulting role disguised as account management. You will be advising business owners on how to grow their businesses, including how to frame their offer, think about their funnel, close deals, handle fulfillment, and use AI to do it faster.
Responsibilities
- Manage an established portfolio of legacy clients across various stages of maturity and engagement.
- Conduct regular check-ins, growth workshops, and strategic conversations with business owners.
- Focus on client retention by spotting risk before it becomes a refund conversation, re-engaging quiet clients, and resolving issues without escalation.
- Provide business consulting by advising clients on offer framing, lead generation strategy, sales process, prospecting, closing, and fulfillment.
- Identify upsell opportunities and position the next step as a natural move.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with onboarding, deliverables, and office hours teams.
- Document every interaction, decision, and next step.
Requirements
- Native or near-native English fluency.
- Direct experience as a CSM, account manager, or business consultant where you personally advised clients on how to start, grow, or scale a business.
- Understanding of lead generation, sales funnels, cold email, LinkedIn outreach, and how they connect to a client's revenue.
- Experience managing a portfolio of clients where retention and expansion were your responsibility.
- Comfortable with difficult conversations and providing honest feedback.
- Ability to propose solutions rather than just reporting problems.
- Quick learner, especially with AI tools and product knowledge.
What Success Looks Like
- Clients are progressing, not just retained, with a focus on business results.
- Clients at risk are flagged and handled before they escalate.
- Audits of client books are completed within the first two weeks.
- Clients are coached on their business, not just updated on deliverables.
- Product knowledge is picked up quickly to be credible in front of clients.
Benefits
- High-performance, remote-first team environment.
- Direct access to department heads.
- Opportunities for quick progression based on performance.
- Exposure to AI-led systems and tools.
- Autonomy and ownership over your portfolio.
This role operates as an independent contractor engagement: invoice-based, permanent structure, regulated notice periods on both sides. We expect 50 to 60 hours a week from our best people, not as a crunch but as the natural shape of work that matters.
