As a Manufacturing Intern, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Participating in projects such as changeover reduction, 5S, Pareto Analysis, time study, value stream mapping, standardized work, and optimization of workflows, kaizen events, Statistical Process Control, and Process Control Systems;
- Using basic project management skills;
- Troubleshooting maintenance and reliability issues;
- Learning the basics of pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Packaging processing and equipment, including dispensing, mixing, wet granulation, tablet compression, coating, and tablet printing;
- Reviewing equipment specifications;
- Collecting and analyzing data to make decisions;
- Working with non-union plant personnel and external vendors to implement solutions.
To be successful in this role, you should:
- Be currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical discipline;
- Have completed at least 1 year of a Bachelor's degree program;
- Possess good verbal and written communication skills in English;
- Have experience with data analysis and root cause analysis;
- Be able to work accurately and efficiently on multiple projects under tight timelines;
- Have strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel Pivot Tables;
- Have a basic understanding of Process Control Systems and production floor automation.
Preferred qualifications include prior engineering internship or co-op experience in a pharmaceutical company in engineering or data science-related jobs.
In terms of compensation, you can expect a salary of approximately $24.00 to $43.25 per hour. Additional benefits include healthcare, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, and more.
