Structures (CAE) Engineer

The Analysis Department at MTCE is currently seeking a Structures (CAE) Engineer. As a Structures Engineer, you will construct FEA models, perform simulations, recommend design improvements, perform engineering calculations, review requirements and specifications, and prepare reports.

Responsibilities include:

• Constructing FEA models and performing simulations
• Recommending design improvements and performing engineering calculations
• Reviewing requirements and specifications, and preparing reports
• Working closely with other members of the team and other departments, particularly design engineering and testing
• Interfacing with manufacturing division partners and OEM customers

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or related field
• 0-3 years of experience
• Proven engineering aptitude with the ability to conceptualise and align designs with functional requirements
• Good knowledge of the finite element method and its application to mechanical systems
• Prior experience with commercial FEA tools, such as Hyperworks, ABAQUS, LS-DYNA, OptiStruct, and nCode
• Experience using multi-body kinematics and dynamics packages is an asset
• High level of interest in automotive engineering
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organisational skills
• Effective problem-solving skills
• Hold current passport and be able to travel as required
