Senior Software Engineer, Machine Learning (Ads)

Discord is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Machine Learning to join its Revenue ML team, focusing on ads measurement, targeting, and delivery ranking. The successful candidate will contribute to building and scaling ML capabilities, developing foundational models that enhance ad relevance, optimize performance, and drive revenue.

The role involves:

• Designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models for ads targeting and ranking
• Developing sophisticated ML solutions, such as identity graphs, to enhance ad targeting
• Building and optimizing ad ranking models to serve effective ads based on campaign objectives
• Improving ads targeting and ranking using on-platform and off-platform signals
• Collaborating cross-functionally with product, engineering, and business teams to define and execute the Ads ML roadmap
• Scaling ML infrastructure to support concurrent ad campaigns while ensuring low-latency decision-making
• Driving research and implementation of state-of-the-art ML techniques in online advertising

Requirements include:

• 5+ years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or Data Scientist
• 3+ years of experience in Ads ML, including ads ranking, personalization, optimization, and targeting
• Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Experience with applied deep learning, real-time ML inference, A/B testing, and optimization frameworks
• Proven track record of designing, implementing, and scaling ML-driven ad systems

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $220,000 to $275,000 + equity + benefits.
