Benefits Advising (Renewals) Manager

Gusto is seeking a Benefits Advising (Renewals) Manager to lead a licensed benefits advisor organization, empowering individual contributors to deliver a best-in-class customer experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing OKR/team initiatives, leading high-performing teams, and providing expert benefits advice.

Responsibilities:

• Empower and coach team members to operational excellence
• Drive retention and revenue growth through tailored renewal experiences
• Evolve the customer experience using customer feedback and data
• Lead change management and foster a culture of trust and continuous learning
• Work cross-functionally with Product, Carrier Ops, Sales, and other CX teams
• Champion AI integration to improve advisor productivity and customer engagement

Requirements:

• 4-6 years of formal leadership experience in benefits advisory, customer success, or renewals
• Direct experience with small group health insurance (fully insured, level-funded, or PEO models)
• Proven ability to drive revenue growth, customer retention, and expansion
• Analytic and strategic thinking with ability to translate data into insights and actions
• Strong operational skills and experience with technology/automation solutions
• Executive presence with ability to align leaders across CX, Sales, and Product
• Customer-first mentality with a first-principles-thinking approach

Salary:

• $86,530 - $106,000 per year in Phoenix
• $92,245 - $113,000 per year in Denver
