Software Engineer Intern (January 12th start, 23 weeks)

We're seeking a Software Engineer Intern to join our team for 23 weeks, starting on January 12th. As a Software Engineer Intern, you will design, develop, deploy, and operate software solutions to help Twilio deliver real-time, low-latency capabilities for next-generation communications.

Responsibilities:

• Be a Software Engineer, not just an intern
• Ship multiple projects during the 6-month internship
• Learn from experienced engineers at Twilio who solve problems in distributed computing, real-time DSP, virtualization performance, and more
• Take ownership of core features and services that ship to our users
• Embrace challenges, learn quickly, and deliver high-quality results
• Develop technical skills and industry experience while working on complex distributed systems
• Participate in code reviews, bug tracking, and project management with the Twilio team

Qualifications:

• Working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science
• Keen interest in software development with several side projects and involvement in the open-source community
• Entrepreneurial and can-do spirit, with a willingness to learn new technologies
• Experience writing code in languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, PHP, C, or C++

Desired skills:

• Knowledge of unit and integration testing methodologies
• Experience with data processing, analytics, and business intelligence
• Familiarity with technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Python, and Scala

Location: This role will be remote and based in India. You must be located in one of the following states for the duration of the internship: Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Maharashtra, or Delhi.
