Description
WSP's Energy business is seeking an Electrical Substation Design Engineer to join their team in Ireland. The successful candidate will work on delivering power transmission infrastructure projects, contributing to the country's transition to Net Zero.
The role involves:
- Designing electrical substations, including producing comprehensive design drawings and technical specifications
- Conducting feasibility studies, estimating costs, and preparing plant specifications
- Reviewing designs for compliance with legislation and policies
- Collaborating with clients, designers, and contractors
- Ensuring health and safety risks are identified and managed
Requirements include:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in HV and MV substation design, particularly with EirGrid and ESB Networks standards
- Knowledge of substation cable design, protection, and control
- Understanding of health and safety requirements
The ideal candidate will have experience with substation design projects, preferably with chartered engineer status.
