Description
The Capital One Privacy Compliance team is seeking a Compliance Privacy Director with a passion for mitigating privacy risk. The Compliance Privacy Director will join our Privacy Compliance team and lead the Privacy team that supports our Capital One Auto business and oversees compliance with applicable federal and state Privacy laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Analyse business initiatives to determine whether they comply with applicable privacy laws and regulations
- Exercise sound judgment to effectively assess and balance risk in the provision of compliance advice to the business
- Maintain expert knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
- Regularly interact with business partners to influence processes, procedures, and controls
- Assess the impact and advise on remediation of breakdowns or findings
- Actively engage with others within the department
- Identify trends in compliance data and proactively advise on identified internal and external risks
- Ensure team fulfills on expectations and deliverables under the compliance management program
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or military experience
- At least 8 years of privacy, compliance, risk management, legal or audit experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor or Master’s degree
- 9+ years of privacy, compliance, risk management, legal, or audit experience at a financial institution
- 3+ years of experience in strategic consulting and strategic initiative management
- 3+ years of people management experience
- Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Risk Professional (CRP) or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)
Salary Information:
- McLean, VA: $206,000 - $235,100 for Director, Compliance
- Plano, TX: $187,300 - $213,700 for Director, Compliance
- Richmond, VA: $187,300 - $213,700 for Director, Compliance
