Financial Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Financial Engineer. The purpose of the role is to support the Analytics, Digital & Architecture (ADA), Global Finance team, which is a global team and Centre of Excellence in Finance responsible for shaping the future of financial analytics and engineering.

The job holder will be required to work closely with our modelling teams to understand in detail our models, support modelling in delivering these models within our software engineering best practice standards, leading the initiative to ensure our models are efficient and scalable.

Key responsibilities:

• Work closely with modelling teams to understand models in detail and support modelling in delivering models within software engineering best practice standards
• Lead the initiative to ensure models are efficient and scalable
• Develop and maintain applications using Python for back-end
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services
• Implement best practice CI/CD pipelines to ensure stable production deployments
• Support testing and BAU support as required throughout model deliveries
• Utilize programming skills to automate and streamline software development processes related to global finance
• Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across business units, IT, and data science to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Maintain a strong understanding of current software engineering best practices, cloud technologies, and financial markets
• Provide strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges
• Work independently and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Effective relationship management with stakeholders to ensure timely flow of information and continuous feedback mechanism
• Managing on-time service delivery
• Work with business stakeholders to obtain deep understanding of requirements
• Closely collaborate with quantitative analysts, project managers, and IT to ensure solutions are performing as expected and delivered on time
• Influence and escalate key issues in an effective way to ensure timely resolution
• Promote a culture of continuous, constructive challenge and a high-performance culture
• Act as a lead and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders across varying levels of experience and locations
• Support hiring and talent development from ADA perspective

Requirements:

• Bachelor/master's degree in computer science
• Proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying software applications
• 1+ years of experience in back-end development, with expertise in Python
• Strong understanding of Python concepts, including OOPS
• Experience with framework like FastAPI, RM
• Experience with testing frameworks and libraries like pytest and unittest
• Experience with building APIs and microservice architecture
• Experience with database technologies (SQL, NSQL) such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.
• Experience in DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with large data processing technologies
• Familiarity with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Familiarity with Java & Springboot
