Description

The Cycle Count Supervisor is responsible for leading the cycle counting program to ensure inventory accuracy across the facility.

This role oversees a team of cycle count checkers, develops and manages count schedules, investigates and resolves discrepancies, and partners with cross-functional teams to maintain data integrity in the inventory management system.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with hands-on leadership to drive continuous improvement in inventory accuracy and process efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and schedule cycle count checkers to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly count targets are met using the Production Inventory Management System.
  • Develop and maintain cycle count schedules based on ABC classification, inventory value, and business risk.
  • Analyze inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective action plans.
  • Reconcile physical counts against system records (WMS/ERP) and adjust inventory as needed following approval protocols.
  • Partner with Warehouse / Material Handling operations, Production Control, Supply Chain Management, Plant Inventory Analyst, Plant Internal Control, Manufacturing, Quality, PPM, IMG Obsolescence, and Finance teams to resolve variances and improve processes.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory accuracy rate, count completion rate, and shrinkage.
  • Lead or support annual/periodic physical inventory audits.
  • Ensure compliance with Production Inventory Management System, company policies, safety standards, and audit/regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce recurring errors and increase counting efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and generate regular Inventory reports for leadership review.
  • Ensure/Avoid and Minimize obsolescence parts model year run out part.
  • Ensure/Maintain accuracy record balance to enough material available to support Model Year Buildouts.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics Business, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in Inventory control, Warehouse operations, or Materials management.
  • 1+ years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems (ERP/WMS such as SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Data analysis for identifying trends and variances.
  • Familiarity with cycle counting methodologies (ABC analysis, statistical sampling).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse/manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • APICS/ASCM certification: CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) or CLTD (Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution) a plus.
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing or high-volume distribution environment.
  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with RF scanning and barcode inventory systems.
