Description

Electronic Arts is seeking a Technical Artist to join the EA SPORTS NHL team in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The Technical Artist plays a critical role in advancing how teams deliver world-class experiences. Reporting to the Technical Art Director, you will help drive quality at scale, own runtime performance and optimization across multiple platforms. You will collaborate closely with rendering engineers and art leads to build, test, refine and debug anything that comes between that perfect blend of visual quality and high performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with rendering engineers and art leads to build, test, refine and debug visual quality and performance
  • Drive quality at scale and optimize runtime performance across multiple platforms
  • Work at the intersection of creativity and technology to deliver innovative experiences

Qualifications:

  • At least 5+ years of games production experience
  • A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a related field
  • Effective communication skills with different audiences: artists, engineers, managers
  • Proficient in visual (e.g. Shader Graphs, Blueprints) or textual (Python, C#) scripting/programming (C++ is a bonus but is not required)
  • Proficient with graphics debuggers/profilers (PIX, RenderDoc) and memory/runtime resource management
  • Experience with asset optimization challenges/techniques
  • Willingness to jump into the unknown and solve new problems to resolve technical challenges and limitations
  • Proficiency with commercial game engines/editors like Unity/Unreal is a plus
  • Experience in utilizing AI-assisted development tools (e.g. coding agents) to rapid prototype, accelerate execution and automate workflows
  • Passion for Games!
