The Launched Effects team at Anduril is responsible for scaling the manufacturing and delivery of the ALTIUS family of systems.
As a Senior Supply Quality Engineer, you will work inside & outside the organization to define, develop, and execute processes that deliver high quality & reliable precision machined parts used in our missile and high-speed aircraft programs.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with design teams to support design development and provide design for manufacturability feedback
- Use knowledge and expertise of machining, molding, additive manufacturing, fabrication, special processes, and inspection/measurement to support internal design process and ideation
- Drive supplier quality development processes throughout product development stages
- Partner with development engineering, product quality engineering, sourcing engineering, category management, and program management to deliver predictable supply
- Drive supplier quality readiness by analyzing key and critical characteristics for drawings and supplier specification
- Own the elimination of supplier risk to improve quality & reliability across the product lifecycle
- Support Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Material Review Board (MRB) activities
- Review supplier effectiveness of actions and share lessons learned across the product team
- Audit the Quality Management System at suppliers
- Prepare, support, and lead supplier onsite audits and reviews
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy or similar technical field
- Experience with producing precision mechanical parts for aerospace or defense
- Experience in scaling supplier capabilities and quality from prototype to high rate production
- Working knowledge of AS9100/ ISO 9001-based Quality Management System requirements
- Experience performing First Article Inspection to AS9102 Industry Standard
- Experience with driving supplier performance and evaluation
- Working knowledge of product development methodologies such as FMEA, APQP, PPAP
- Strong ownership mindset with demonstrated capability to drive projects from start to completion
- Analytical skills and experiences for data mining, data quality, metrics generation, and statistical analysis tools
- Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance
- Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a technical field
- Experience in creating material and process specifications
- Experience with managing special processes
- Process Failure Modes Effects and Analysis (PFMEA) experience
- Experience with government contracts and MIL standard requirements
