Broadcast Engineering

WTSP-TV Tampa, a TEGNA CBS affiliate, seeks a full-time Broadcast Engineer to join its Technology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the station's technical equipment, including traditional broadcast hardware and industry-specific software.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting daily news operations, equipment, and computer-based IT systems
• Installing and maintaining broadcast and IT equipment at studio facilities, transmitter sites, remote broadcast vehicles, and other locations
• Troubleshooting equipment issues and making repairs or implementing workarounds as needed
• Performing routine security updates and reboots of broadcast servers
• Contributing to technical documentation for installed equipment
• Participating in occasional field work on remote productions and minor building-related maintenance tasks

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of experience in broadcast engineering or a related field
• Strong organisational, communication, and time-management skills
• Ability to work efficiently without direct supervision and under pressure
• Solid understanding of current computer hardware, network technologies, and Microsoft's Active Directory environment
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and to be available on-call
• Physical capabilities include lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, working on elevated surfaces, and using hand and power tools
