The Role
You will join Carta's Funds team in the Americas region as a Junior Paralegal. Carta Law is the largest AI-native law firm for private capital, and you will work alongside embedded AI agents to deliver investor onboarding, transaction KYC, and high-volume legal work.
Responsibilities
As a Junior Paralegal, you will:
- Rotate across or specialise within one of three practice areas depending on your strengths and interests
- Develop expertise in legal practice, including compliance, contracts, or funds
- Prioritise well, manage competing deadlines, and keep matters moving without losing attention to detail
- Write and speak clearly and professionally, providing crisp, concise advice to clients
- Take initiative, work independently when needed, and proactively flag issues before they become problems
- Collaborate effectively with lawyers, senior paralegals, and client-facing teams across a fast-paced environment
Requirements
We are looking for someone who is:
- Eager to learn and grow, motivated, curious, and excited to develop expertise in legal practice
- Organised and efficient, able to prioritise well and manage competing deadlines
- A strong communicator, able to write and speak clearly and professionally
- A self-starter, able to take initiative and work independently when needed
- A team player, able to collaborate effectively with lawyers, senior paralegals, and client-facing teams
- Legally educated, with an undergraduate Law degree or equivalent preferred; a GDL is welcome

Salary
Our expected cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is: $78,000 - $97,600 salary in Toronto
