Description
The Compute Product Operations team at Cisco sits at the critical intersection of hardware innovation and global manufacturing, driving seamless New Product Introductions (NPI) across the compute portfolio.
As a Product Lifecycle Supply Chain Project Manager, you will serve as the strategic supply chain backbone for New Product Introductions (NPI) to bridge the gap between product engineering, manufacturing, and global supply chain partners.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing material availability, prototype build schedules, and contract manufacturer execution to ensure on-time delivery across critical build milestones.
- Leading cost Bill of Materials (BOM) risk analysis and partnering with commodity teams to mitigate single-source dependencies, identify key cost drivers, and optimize overall product margins before First Customer Ship (FCS).
- Executing robust ramp and transition plans from proto builds to high-volume sustaining production to ensure supply continuity and operational stability.
- Championing cross-functional alignment and early engagement forums to harmonize product technology roadmaps with global commodity strategies.
The minimum qualifications for this role include:
- 10+ years of supply chain or manufacturing operations experience supporting hardware products from NPI through production ramp.
- Demonstrated expertise in Bill of Materials (BOM) structure management, cost driver analysis, and product lifecycle management tools (Agile PDM).
- Proven experience in material planning, prototype build scheduling, and inventory management.
- Strong analytical capabilities utilizing tools such as Excel, Tableau, or cost-pricing databases.
- Direct experience managing component risk analysis and driving contract manufacturer (CM) accountability.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Strong background in hardware project management methodologies across complex product lifecycles.
- Proven ability to operate autonomously and resolve complex operational escalations in a fast-paced, matrixed technical environment.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional technical and business leaders.
- Experience leading early supplier/commodity engagement forums to align engineering technology requirements with procurement strategies.
