Description
WSP India is seeking a Principal Consultant – GIS to contribute to data management and mapping activities related to WSP AU projects. This hands-on technical role involves day-to-day project delivery, including routine GIS activities and supporting Australian project teams.
Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Engagement & Service Delivery:
- Build strong relationships with Australian business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across Australia and global GCC teams.
- Act as a trusted advisor for GIS, spatial analytics, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Manage and prioritize GIS work pipelines.
- Take ownership of GIS delivery for assigned projects.
- Technical Leadership & Team Development:
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to GIS professionals.
- Provide technical oversight and direction on complex GIS tasks and projects.
- Drive continuous improvement of GIS delivery standards and processes.
- Conduct technical reviews and ensure compliance with organizational quality standards.
- GIS & Spatial Data Services:
- Design, develop, manage, and maintain geospatial datasets and GIS solutions.
- Perform spatial analysis, data validation, and data integration activities.
- Produce high-quality maps, dashboards, and spatial visualizations.
- Automation, Analytics & GeoAI:
- Develop and implement automated GIS workflows using Python, ArcGIS tools, and other digital technologies.
- Utilize advanced spatial analytics and location intelligence techniques.
- Contribute to the adoption and implementation of GeoAI and machine learning solutions.
- Infrastructure, Environment, Resources & Asset Data Management:
- Support mining activities, asset management, and environmental compliance.
- Perform geospatial assessments and asset register reviews.
- Deliver accurate spatial information products.
- Quality Assurance & Governance:
- Lead Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) activities for GIS deliverables.
- Maintain compliance with organizational standards and governance frameworks.
Desired Skills
- Advanced proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ESRI ecosystem technologies.
- Strong experience in spatial analysis, geospatial database management, and enterprise GIS solutions.
- Advanced scripting and automation skills using Python, Arcade, and ModelBuilder.
- Experience with geospatial ETL tools such as FME.
- Knowledge of GeoAI, machine learning, and advanced spatial analytics.
- Experience integrating GIS with enterprise systems and digital solutions.
Qualifications
- Typically 12+ years of relevant experience in GIS, geospatial consulting, or digital spatial solutions.
- Postgraduate qualification in GIS, Data Science, or related discipline is desirable.
- Relevant GIS industry certifications such as Esri Technical Certifications are advantageous.
