About the Team

You'll join the Application Engineering team, supporting platforms for Sales and CX interactions. The team's work directly shapes how the rest of Gusto operates, focusing on scalable technical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable Apex solutions on Salesforce for Sales and CX teams.
  • Use AI coding assistants to write, review, debug, and document code throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Oversee improvements to deployed features and measure their impact.
  • Apply Salesforce platform architecture and change/release management best practices.
  • Write well-structured, maintainable, and documented code.
  • Build, test, and debug reliable production systems at scale.
  • Contribute to codebases beyond Salesforce when needed.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 4+ years developing on Salesforce in Apex.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I and/or Application Architect certification(s).
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce platform architecture.
  • Fluent use of AI coding assistants.
  • Experience with sf CLI and Salesforce change/release management best practices.
  • Comfortable writing well-structured code.
  • Proven track record building and debugging reliable production systems.
  • Skilled at translating ambiguous requirements into business value.

  • Office expectations: 2-3 days per week in the office.
