As a Global Audit and Risk Senior Manager at Diageo, you will provide independent assurance on the effectiveness of risk management and control procedures across the business. Your goal will be to highlight particular risk and opportunity areas and enable Global Audit to achieve its strategic goals.
About the Role
You will have a significant impact on the business, delivering high-quality and holistic risk management and internal audit assurance across a broad range of functions and geographies. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, business partners, and leaders to identify solutions to existing and emerging risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with business partners and senior stakeholders, influencing and managing conflicts where necessary
- Demonstrate an understanding of business risks across multiple process areas and articulate effective risk mitigation strategies
- Deliver thoughtful and value-adding insights on audit assignments that convince leaders to take actions enhancing Diageo's performance and risk/control environment
- Provide ongoing proactive advice and support to help leaders better anticipate and respond to risks
- Understand the Diageo Purpose and clearly articulate how others can understand, connect to, and help deliver it
- Apply root cause and data-driven analysis to support the development of impactful business insights and efficiency opportunities
- Partner with the business in finding solutions for risks and opportunities
- Provide functional support and coaching to less experienced team members
- Leverage strengths within Global Audit and the wider business, being open to ideas and learnings from others
- Grow both functional and leadership capability and experience
Requirements and Skills
- Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in Big Four and/or internal audit in a multinational corporate environment
- Risk-based auditing, including reviewing core financials and business data to identify potential risks and insights
- Root cause analysis and insights generation, understanding complex problems and defining action plans
- Extensive experience in using data analysis tools and AI tools
- Proven success in building and sustaining relationships with key stakeholders, especially senior management
- People management skills and the ability to influence and direct where appropriate
- Qualified Accountant, MBA, or other professional qualification and equivalent experience
- Fluent English is mandatory
