Product Counsel

Stripe’s Product Legal team is responsible for managing the legal and regulatory elements of the design, build and execution of our products and services. You will be a key advisor to Stripe’s product, engineering and partnerships teams, and will work on a diverse set of matters that straddle financial services, business processes, and technology.

Responsibilities:

• Counsel Stripe product and engineering teams on a range of issues relating to Stripe's software solutions, including Stripe Revenue Suite, Stripe Profiles, and Stripe Atlas.
• Collaborate with teams across Stripe to deliver pragmatic and actionable legal advice on a range of issues related to the product development lifecycle.
• Draft, review, and update internal and external-facing foundational terms and documents for Stripe’s products and service offerings.
• Stay up-to-date on laws and regulations dealing with consumer financial data access and analyze laws, regulatory updates, industry trends to proactively advise clients of potential product impacts.
• Participate as a proactive business partner to your product team and build a trusted advisor relationship offering key legal and strategic business input.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of demonstrated experience as a qualified lawyer in a top law firm or in-house legal team working with technology companies.
• Proficiency in, and passion for, working with technology and ability to understand complex operational and business models.
• A self-starter and self-learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple work streams and priorities simultaneously and efficiently.
• Strong communication and relational skills and can work well cross-functionally with a sense of urgency.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills to stay on top of shifting priorities and thrives working under tight deadlines.
• A background in technology law, Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strategic thinking to enable business partners to make decisions that are grounded in a practical application of the law, the technology, and the business goals.
