Description
Prudential is seeking an experienced AML & Financial Crime Compliance professional to support the company's regulatory and regional obligations on Anti-Money Laundering/Sanctions (AML) and Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC).
The successful candidate will focus on executing day-to-day AML activities, strengthening the AML & ABC frameworks, and contributing to the development of a framework that commensurates with the business model of the company.
Key responsibilities include:
- Establishing and reviewing the AML and ABC framework, taking into consideration regulatory requirements, Group standards, and operating environment.
- Exercising delegated MLRO authority to approve high-risk AML/CFT cases and providing oversight on non-high-risk cases.
- Maintaining strong governance over AML investigations, documentation, audit trails, and ensuring proper escalation of suspicious activities.
- Overseeing transaction monitoring and screening framework, including quality assurance or clearing of complex alerts.
- Leading and delivering AML-related projects and initiatives, including automation and system enhancements.
- Driving continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency and control effectiveness.
- Conducting AML/CFT risk assessments for new products and business initiatives.
- Representing Compliance in governance forums, committees, and key projects.
- Developing and delivering AML/CFT training for the company.
- Promoting a strong AML and ABC risk awareness and culture within the company.
- Performing annual review of the enterprise-wide AML & ABC risk assessments.
- Preparing quarterly MI reporting for AML and ABC for risk committee meeting.
- Overseeing and managing periodic customer risk review.
- Actively identifying and managing key AML & ABC controls: screening, enhanced due diligence, transaction monitoring, gifts and hospitality controls.
- Supporting in reporting and presenting findings, as required, to local management, Group office, and Board Audit Committee.
- Ensuring adherence to and providing advice and guidance to senior management, business units on new products, processes, and/or initiatives to identify financial crime risks and recommend proposed risk mitigants.
- Collaborating with other relevant business functions or units on all AML and ABC related matters.
- Managing audit engagements and regulatory enquiries.
- Supporting management meetings by preparing agendas, taking minutes, and tracking follow-ups to ensure timely action.
- Supporting ad hoc tasks as required by the Head of Risk and Compliance.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 10-12 years of experience in an AML role, preferably having dealt with AML requirements for retail, corporate, high net worth / private banking customers.
- Analytical and attentive to details.
- Excellent understanding of AML requirements.
- Strong stakeholder management and influence.
- Degree/diploma in any discipline.
- AML certifications preferred (e.g. ACAMS, ICA).
