Senior Product Manager, Asta

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the development of Asta, Ai2's platform for building agents that advance scientific research.

As a Senior Product Manager, you will own the engineering and data frameworks of Asta, working closely with researchers and engineers to define requirements, build roadmaps, and drive execution.

Key responsibilities include:

• Defining Asta engineering requirements by working directly with Ai2 researchers
• Building and sequencing the roadmap for Asta's agentic framework and its supporting tools
• Creating and running a continuous feedback loop between engineering and research
• Driving adoption of Asta's tools among Ai2's own researchers
• Project managing and driving execution across Asta engineering workstreams
• Owning the Semantic Scholar platform end to end
• Developing and executing Ai2's benchmarking strategy for scientific agents
• Ensuring regulatory and governance compliance for these products

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree and 5-8+ years of product management experience
• Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous needs into concrete engineering requirements
• Experience partnering closely with an engineering team on a technical platform
• Genuine interest in AI research, agentic systems, and their application to scientific discovery
• Strong written communication and excellent stakeholder management skills

Nice to have:

• Direct experience with agent frameworks, LLM tooling, or orchestration platforms
• Experience building or maintaining public-facing developer products
• Familiarity with data privacy and governance regulations
• Experience in a research organization, national lab, or academic environment
