Regulatory Legal Counsel

We are seeking a Regulatory Legal Counsel to advise on platform, AI, and digital regulation that shapes how X, Grok, and other SpaceXAI products are built and operated across Europe, the UK, the Middle East, and Africa.

The ideal candidate will have experience in advising on digital regulations, including the EU AI Act, Digital Services Act (DSA), the UK Online Safety Act (OSA), and other relevant frameworks.

Responsibilities:

• Advise on implementation and compliance with EU, UK, and other EMEA digital regulations
• Support regulatory engagement and investigations with regulators
• Work cross-functionally with Safety, Product, and Engineering to assess new features and AI products against regulatory requirements
• Track and analyze new legislation, codes of practice, guidelines, and enforcement trends across EMEA
• Help build scalable processes, templates, and playbooks for regulatory compliance and product review
• Partner with Compliance, Product Counsel, Privacy, Litigation, and Policy colleagues to keep positions consistent across jurisdictions and regulators
• Manage outside counsel effectively and cost-consciously
• Selflessly and generously support what is needed in the legal department
• Adopt daily use of our AI products to accelerate learning and optimize productivity

Basic Qualifications:

• Qualified lawyer of good standing, ideally UK and/or EU
• 5+ years of legal experience in technology, platform, or digital regulation
• Strong working knowledge of the DSA and/or UK OSA
• Strong understanding of the legislative process and the technology industry
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas in a succinct and impactful manner
• Ability to work effectively with technical and non-legal teams
• Strong sense of ownership, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to being in-office 5 days/week
