Description
Electronic Arts is seeking a Technical Artist to join the EA SPORTS UFC team in Vancouver, British Columbia. The successful candidate will play a critical role in advancing the delivery of world-class experiences, focusing on runtime performance and optimization across multiple platforms.
The Technical Artist will report to the Technical Art Director and collaborate closely with rendering engineers and art leads to build, test, refine, and debug visual quality and performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in art, design, mathematics, engineering, or computer science, with a genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies like Generative AI and Machine Learning.
Responsibilities:
- Help drive quality at scale and own runtime performance and optimization across multiple platforms
- Collaborate with rendering engineers and art leads to build, test, refine, and debug visual quality and performance
- Operate at the intersection of creativity and technology
Qualifications:
- At least 5+ years of games production experience
- A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a related field
- Effective communication skills with different audiences
- Proficient in visual or textual scripting/programming (e.g., Shader Graphs, Blueprints, Python, C#)
- Proficient with graphics debuggers/profilers and memory/runtime resource management
- Experience with asset optimization challenges/techniques
- Willingness to solve new problems and resolve technical challenges
- Proficiency with commercial game engines/editors like Unity/Unreal is a plus
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools
