Android Engineer III

You will be working on the Peloton Product Engineering team within the Connected Fitness organization, building the core software that powers the screens on their flagship hardware products.

As an Android Engineer III, you will be responsible for iterating on processes, technology, and communication throughout your team. You will assist and grow mid/junior engineers around you.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop highly engaging, customer-facing features for Peloton's Bike, Tread, and Row products.
• Shape the on-equipment software that delivers best-in-class fitness experiences directly to Members.
• Collaborate with UX and design teams on design execution feasibility.
• Translate Product, UX, and UI requirements into code implementations.
• Accomplish complex engineering tasks independently.
• Manage complex cross-team coordinations and work closely with product owners.
• Evaluate and communicate different engineering solutions and trade-offs.
• Leverage AI-first coding tools, such as Claude Code.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of software development experience, 2+ years of Android development experience.
• Solid experience interacting with REST APIs.
• Solid understanding of Kotlin and Java.
• Solid understanding of architecture patterns (MVVM and MVI).
• Solid understanding of Android threading and processing.
• Experience with profiling UI, memory, and threading in Android.
• B.S. in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent years of work experience.

Nice to have:

• Experience with automation testing (Espresso).
• GitHub projects or contributions to open-source communities.
• Continuous build experience in an Agile Environment.
• Experience using gRPC and GraphQL.
