Senior IT Manager

Job Overview

You'll lead the IT team at Pomelo Care, a rapidly scaling virtual medical practice for women and children, setting the standard for world-class IT. This role reports to the VP of Engineering and can be based anywhere in the continental US.

Responsibilities

• Manage, coach, and grow a team of IT Support Engineers, including hiring, development, and performance management.
• Stay hands-on by setting the technical bar, teaching the team, and handling the hardest escalations.
• Own and manage core IT systems and the roadmap, including identity and access, device management, Google Workspace, Slack, and other SaaS tools.
• Oversee IT vendor relationships, procurement, and spending, negotiating renewals and optimizing the tech stack.
• Automate manual and repetitive IT tasks.
• Ensure smooth onboarding and offboarding processes for a distributed team.
• Collaborate with the Security team on HIPAA compliance and SOC 2 HITRUST certifications.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in IT support/operations, with 2+ years of team management experience.
• Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
• Player-coach attitude with strong customer service and communication skills.
• Comfortable working with executives and handling sensitive requests.
• Hands-on experience with systems like Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, and Apple fleets managed with MDM tools.

Nice to Have

• Startup experience, especially in building or scaling an IT function.
• Healthcare experience with HIPAA and patient data.
• Infosec/security background.
• Hands-on experience with SOC 2 or HITRUST.
• Experience with compliance automation platforms like Vanta or Drata.

Compensation

The expected base salary range is $165,000-$195,000, with eligibility for equity.
