Description

Prudential is seeking an Assistant Manager, Finance to oversee insurance-related financial operations, ensure accurate calculation of incentives and commissions, and maintain strong financial controls.

The successful candidate will manage day-to-day finance operations related to insurance transactions, including premiums, claims, and refunds. They will also be responsible for:

  • Ensuring accurate and timely calculation and processing of compensations for bank partners and agents
  • Coordinating with stakeholders as finance subject matter experts on new products, projects, and system integrations
  • Managing monthly closing from insurance operations, including accrual, reserves, and budget
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies, IFRS standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintaining strong internal controls and supporting audit readiness for internal and external audits
  • Performing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and following up on outstanding items
  • Supporting regulatory reporting in collaboration with the Finance Reporting team
  • Liaising with external stakeholders such as auditors and banks when required
  • Identifying process improvement opportunities and supporting implementation of SOP enhancements and system developments
  • Providing guidance and supervision to junior finance staff
  • Supporting the Finance Manager and Head of Department on ad-hoc tasks and strategic initiatives

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably within the insurance industry
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory or assistant manager role
  • Strong understanding of insurance finance operations (premium, claims, commissions)
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or ACCA (Part II) or currently pursuing a professional qualification
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, effective communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead, guide, and collaborate with team members
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting (IFRS preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with accounting systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial data analysis
  • Good command of written and spoken English
