Description
As an Accounting Specialist at 3M's Sumaré/SP location, you will play a key role in supporting accounting closing activities, preparing financial reports, analyzing variances, controlling costs, revenue, and profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial information.
- Prepare financial reports and variance analysis.
- Provide insights to support decision-making.
- Partner with Finance areas, Global Service Centers, Tax, Supply Chain, and Business teams to ensure alignment of financial data and processes.
- Support cost control, expense analysis, revenue tracking, and profitability analysis.
- Support the review of balance sheet reconciliations, including the analysis and follow-up of aging and pending items.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and applicable accounting standards.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and support automation, standardization, and efficiency initiatives.
- Assist with audits, internal reviews, and requests for financial information.
- Provide financial guidance and analytical support for business projects and operational initiatives.
Requirements:
- Experience with financial reporting, month-end closing activities, variance analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to partner with cross-functional teams to support business decisions and process improvements.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and/or local accounting standards.
- Experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude, as well as data visualization tools.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Advanced level of English.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with active CRC.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a Big Four accounting or consulting firm.
- Postgraduate degree or specialization in Finance.
Work Location:
- This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M plant in Sumaré.
- Travel: May include up to 20%.
