Area Director of Catering Sales ~ Crowne Plaza Crystal City and Holiday Inn National Airport

We are seeking an experienced Area Director of Catering Sales to lead the catering departments for our Crowne Plaza Crystal City and Holiday Inn National Airport hotels.

As a senior-level catering professional, you will be responsible for achieving catering revenue goals, managing catering expenses, and leading a team of catering sales employees.

Key responsibilities include:

• Sales/Revenue Maximization: Achieving catering revenue goals through proactive sales calls, maximizing space potential, and upselling opportunities.
• Cost Control: Managing catering expenses, labor management, and budget preparation.
• People Management: Interviewing, hiring, coaching, and developing catering sales employees.
• Guest Service: Ensuring client satisfaction, responding to client needs, and resolving complaints.
• Technical Acumen: Utilizing sales and catering tools/systems to accurately identify, report, and forecast sales data.
• Training: Providing ongoing training to catering employees and ensuring training records are maintained.
• Safety/Risk Management: Supporting catering operations to maintain standards per B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group, brand, local, state, and federal regulations.
• Self/Workload Management: Demonstrating effective self/workload management, clear communication skills, and promoting a positive work environment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required, college degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• 3+ years of catering sales experience required, with a minimum of 1 year managing direct reports preferred.
• Basic Microsoft Office and Delphi experience desired.
• Membership in catering and event organizations such as NACE and/or MPI is desired.
