Senior Producer

KIII-TV Corpus Christi, the TEGNA-owned ABC affiliate, is seeking an innovative Senior Producer to shape daily newscasts. The successful candidate will lead a team, guide editorial decisions, and create engaging stories across platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Pitch compelling stories using natural curiosity
• Inspire and motivate a team while leading by example
• Guide editorial decision-making as a newsroom leader
• Ensure shows are filled with context and stand out from competitors
• Showcase creativity and storytelling skills
• Craft stories of various lengths for different audiences
• Meet daily deadlines
• Combine live pictures, graphics, and sound to create engaging experiences
• Provide continuous coverage on live streams for breaking news and community events
• Try new things after discussing with supervisors
• Drive content with impactful conversations
• Use data analytics to shape show content
• Challenge traditional methods
• Ensure diverse voices and perspectives are represented

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3-5 years of news content experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong journalistic judgment and understanding of professional journalism
• Experience producing engaging newscasts and digital content
• Social media skills and active presence on preferred platforms
• Organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
• Ability to handle live, breaking news situations
• ENPS and Edius system experience preferred
