Software Engineer

Ford's Research and Advanced Engineering team develops advanced energy management and propulsion technologies, creates cutting-edge materials and manufacturing processes, and curates world-class cabin experiences. As a Software Engineer, you will design cloud platforms and microservices for connected vehicles and over-the-air software delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable, secure, and resilient backend services using Java and the Spring Boot ecosystem.
• Build responsive web interfaces using Angular and/or React.
• Architect, develop, and integrate robust RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Implement complex business logic, performant data models, and optimized database schemas in PostgreSQL, Mongo Database.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Design, deploy, and manage cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Automate environment provisioning and configuration management using Terraform or GCP Cloud Deployment Manager.
• Configure proactive logging, tracing, and alerting solutions using GCP Monitoring and/or Dynatrace.
• Act as a technical guide and mentor for junior and mid-level developers.
• Partner closely with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, and architects to translate business goals into high-performing technical implementations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience with Java.
• 6+ years of deep, hands-on experience with the Spring ecosystem.
• 6+ years of experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• 4+ years of strong proficiency with PostgreSQL.
• 2+ years of experience with Mongo database.
