Industrial Welder - Memphis

SpaceXAI is seeking an Industrial Welder to support the buildout of its high-performance data centers. In this hands-on role, you will fit and weld large industrial piping and structural steel to ASME Section IX standards, ensuring the construction of next-generation AI supercomputing infrastructure.

You will work closely with various teams to weld pipe, supports, and structures throughout the construction process. This is a full-time, onsite role requiring significant travel to SpaceXAI data center sites.

Responsibilities:

• Fit, tack, and weld large-bore industrial piping and structural steel according to ASME Section IX welding procedure specifications.
• Prepare joints by laying out, cutting, beveling, grinding, and aligning them; check fit-up and reinforcement before and after welding.
• Interpret isometric, spool, and structural drawings; adhere to weld maps, heat numbers, and control requirements.
• Assist with hanging supports, setting equipment, and bolting up as needed.
• Manage inventory, stage materials, and maintain a clean work area.
• Ensure site safety by following regulations, obtaining necessary permits, and reporting hazards.
• Support punch-list work, repairs, and inspections during system turnover.

Basic Qualifications:

• 3+ years of journey-level industrial construction welding experience, including welding large industrial piping and/or structural steel.
• Completion of a recognized welding apprenticeship or equivalent military experience.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience with GTAW (TIG) on stainless steel and/or SMAW (stick) on carbon steel.
• ASME Section IX qualification or ability to pass a pre-employment weld test.
• Willingness to work at heights, outdoors, and on changing construction sites.
• Familiarity with welding machines, torches, grinders, and related tools.
• Strong safety mindset and adherence to site procedures.
• Prior experience on data center, industrial, or heavy-civil construction sites.
• Current ASME Section IX qualification (e.g., 6G) in GTAW or SMAW.
• Proficiency in TIG-on-stainless and stick-on-carbon; FCAW a plus.
• AWS D1.1 structural welding qualification or equivalent.
• OSHA 10 or equivalent training.
• Ability to read isometric, spool, and structural drawings.
• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to travel extensively to SpaceXAI data center construction sites and remain onsite during peak phases.
