Description
We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the payroll platform modernization efforts. You will own the systems payroll runs on, including data sync, calculation, payment operations tools, and the data model underneath them. Your goal is to ensure payroll builds on BambooHR's shared platform services.
Responsibilities:
- Own payroll platform modernization, deciding what moves from old operational tools to their replacement, and when
- Price the cost of keeping old systems running
- Own the product half of the payroll data-model redesign
- Own access and audit discipline on payroll systems
- Own compliance and retention for payroll
- Test long-held assumptions about what payroll systems can and cannot do
- Run a payroll roadmap review cadence
Requirements:
- 5+ years of product management experience
- HCM, payroll, or payroll-adjacent platform experience is strongly preferred
- Coordinated with downstream consumers at scale
- Rollout discipline is a reflex
- Technical enough to discuss database schemas, APIs, and migration mechanics with engineers
- Comfortable in regulated, sensitive-data domains
Nice to Have:
- Experience stewarding a legacy enterprise platform through a successor migration
- Payments, money-movement, or banking-file operational experience
- Familiarity with event-driven data architectures
- A developer background
