Description

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology.

As the 2nd Shift Materials Supervisor, you will create a strategic plan to optimize warehouse operations, create a standard set of metrics to monitor team performance, set goals for improving performance, and identify areas to reduce cost while maintaining quality.

Hours will be 3pm-12pm Central.

This role supports Anduril's Rocket Motor Systems (RMS) site in McHenry, MS, a multi-building campus where the material set includes solid rocket motor propellants, oxidizers, energetic and ordnance items, and shelf-life-controlled chemicals.

The right person for this role has extensive supply chain knowledge, has developed SOPs and implemented them, has implemented or improved ERP/WMS, and has a track record of managing expensive and hazardous inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement material management strategies, policies, and procedures to comply with regulations.
  • Hire & train talent who can manage material flow per Anduril guidelines.
  • Develop processes that increase the efficiency (speed & elimination of waste) and effectiveness of Anduril materials management.
  • Implement necessary systems that match Anduril Federal policies on management of government property & inventory management.
  • Implement End-to-End material management measures, including FIFO adherence, material variances, cycle time optimization, scrap/obsolescence management, cycle/physical counting, and audits, etc., to ensure inventory accuracy and to mitigate stockouts or overstocking.
  • Own the energetics and hazardous-material storage program across site buildings , magazine and igloo storage, hazard-division and compatibility-group segregation, net explosive weight (NEW) tracking against sited limits, and quantity-distance (Q-D) compliance for every storage location.
  • Manage shelf-life-controlled inventory as a first-class discipline: expiration and removal-from-service dates on propellant binders, curatives, resins, epoxies, elastomers, and oxidizers; FEFO issue by lot; retest/extension coordination with Quality; and disposition of expired lots before they reach the floor.
  • Control lot and serial traceability on energetic material from receipt through issue to the mix bay and motor build , including lot genealogy for propellant ingredients and the consumption records that tie a mix sheet back to the specific lots it drew from.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, manufacturing engineering, logistics, and quality, to aid in accurate demand forecasting, procurement planning, and timely delivery of materials.
  • Collaborate with production planning and manufacturing teams to align material availability with production schedules, minimize disruptions, and meet customer demand on time.
  • Coordinate inter-building material movement across the campus, including scheduled runs that stage energetic and chemical material to the operating buildings , accounting for transport limits, escort and personnel-limit rules, temperature-controlled handling, and the operating status of each energetics building on a given day.
  • Partner with ESOH/Explosives Safety and Facilities on storage siting, licensed magazine capacity, and inventory changes that shift the site's NEW posture; support explosives-safety inspections and ATF/DoD compliance audits with accurate, on-demand inventory records.
  • Analyze material usage trends, identify opportunities for process improvements, and implement lean practices to optimize material handling, storage, and distribution.
  • Utilize ERP & WMS software systems and tools to track inventory, generate reports, and provide data-driven insights to support decision-making and optimize material-related processes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and quality control protocols in all material management activities.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing warehouse team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of experience in material management, inventory control, or supply chain management roles in an aerospace and/or defense manufacturing environment
  • 1+ years of experience managing a lead of supervisors, associates or technicians
  • Ability to be onsite in McHenry, MS, or willingness to relocate to the surrounding area
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the site's medical, respirator, and explosives-handling qualifications, and to work in and around energetics operating buildings
  • DOT hazardous-materials (HM-181 / HM-126F) general awareness and function-specific training, or ability to complete it within the first 90 days

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience storing, segregating, and issuing energetic material , solid propellants, oxidizers (e.g., ammonium perchlorate), metal fuels, igniters, initiators, or Class/Division 1.1–1.4 items
  • Working knowledge of explosives-safety fundamentals: hazard classification, compatibility groups, quantity-distance criteria, net explosive weight accounting, and licensed magazine management
  • Experience running a shelf-life / limited-life material program including retest, extension, and expired-lot disposition
  • Familiarity with hazardous-waste accumulation areas, satellite accumulation, and RCRA-generator recordkeeping
  • Experience with temperature- and humidity-controlled storage, flammable-liquid cabinets, and chemical-compatibility segregation
  • DOT hazmat shipper/certifier experience for hazard-class outbound shipments
  • Experience supporting a low-rate energetics or ordnance operation through a rate ramp, where storage capacity and Q-D limits are the constraint rather than floor space
