Entry-Level Fabrication Specialist (Preparing and Painting)

We are seeking an Entry-Level Fabrication Specialist to join the Air Dominance Operations team at the Advanced Composite Fabrication Center (ACFC) in Mesa, AZ. As a Fabrication Specialist, you will play a critical role in the fabrication of composite structural and assemblies.

Responsibilities:

• Develop lay-up and assembly set-ups and techniques for composite fabrication
• Set up and troubleshoot composite parts for assembly or layup
• Assemble, lay up, or support the fabrication of parts and components using various processes
• Identify nonconforming detail parts, assemblies, and processes, and work with engineering to improve manufacturing processes
• Fabricate composite detail parts using pre-preg composite materials and/or wet layup processes
• Assemble and install detail composite and metallic components
• Set up, weigh, mix, and apply composite adhesives
• Prep and apply required release agents to composite prototype and production tooling

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in Composites
• Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
• Experience interpreting and working from blueprints, sketches, and written and verbal instructions in English
• Ability to work any shift (1st or 2nd)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Secret Clearance
• Experience with set up and operation of GFM (ply cutter)
• Experience with set up and operation of automated fiber placement
• Experience with aerospace or automotive spray painting operations
