Traffic anchor / MSJ

WWL-TV, the Tegna CBS affiliate in New Orleans, is seeking a traffic reporter who can also handle MSJ duties, including shooting and some fill-in anchoring.

The successful candidate will be an engaging personality who can present traffic during morning newscasts in an understandable manner and gain local knowledge to identify challenging traffic issues.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as weekday traffic anchor for the entire morning show
• Report on various topics as needed
• Fill in as anchor when required
• Relay impactful traffic situations to the story desk for push alerts and stories
• Inform morning show producers when traffic needs to play a bigger role due to breaking accidents
• Cover traffic-related topics, including evacuations and vital information during hurricanes

Requirements:

• 1 to 3 years of reporting, traffic anchoring, or anchoring experience
• Previous traffic anchoring experience is a plus, but talented reporters comfortable on air will be considered
• Previous anchor duties are preferred
