Senior Sourcing Engineer

As a Senior Sourcing Engineer at AVL Beijing Liaison Office, you will leverage your high-level expertise to source materials, services, and manage supplier development, partnerships, and maintenance. You will also support new bidding cases and handle purchasing projects as assigned.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Identifying and sourcing suppliers to fulfill purchasing requirements
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply chains
• Negotiating favorable terms, pricing, and conditions with suppliers
• Executing day-to-day purchasing activities, including order placement and delivery follow-up
• Contributing to cost optimization programs and achieving cost-saving targets
• Identifying and mitigating risks from suppliers and conducting market research to stay informed about industry trends
• Ensuring all purchasing activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering field
• At least 3 years of experience in senior strategic purchasing or sourcing, preferably in a project-driven or industrial environment
• Experience in the manufacturing industry, machinery, or systems engineering industries is a plus
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP) and procurement software (SRM)
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to analyze market trends and data
• Deep understanding of product cost analysis and cost engineering methods
• Knowledge of trade and compliance regulations
• Advanced skills in supplier negotiation, contract management, and risk assessment
