Mission Operations Engineer (Mid Level) - Millennium Space Systems

As a Mission Operations Engineer, you will be the lead technical authority for Millennium's on-orbit spacecraft. Your work will encompass the entire spacecraft mission life cycle, from proposal phase to launch and on-orbit operations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of spacecraft and subsystem engineers during launch and early orbit activities
• Perform duties of lead technical authority during mission operations for both space and ground segments
• Support every aspect of the mission lifecycle, from proposal to decommissioning
• Define ground and mission operations requirements
• Develop and implement methods of operational automation
• Create and execute space vehicle simulator tests and in-factory flight vehicle tests
• Conduct critical ground segment testing
• Lead anomaly response team when off-nominal vehicle conditions arise
• Contribute to customer briefings and debriefings
• Design and validate the mission 'sequence of events'

Requirements:

• B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Software, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Mission Operations or similar
• Experience with real-time satellite command and control
• Willingness to support occasional off-nominal working hours
• Willingness to apply for a TS clearance with SCI eligibility

Preferred Qualifications:

• M.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Software, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Mission Operations or similar
• Experience in leading multidisciplinary technical teams
• Deep knowledge of satellite systems engineering
• Experience with Spacecraft Command & Control software systems
• Familiarity with software and scripting tools such as MATLAB, Python, C/C++, Java
