ADAS Vehicle Motion Performance Engineer

Ford's Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) team designs and develops hardware and functional models that deliver best-in-class behavior for features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Centering Assist, BlueCruise, and 360-Degree Camera Systems.

As an ADAS Vehicle Motion Performance Engineer, you will focus on leading and supporting vehicle motion engineering development for our BlueCruise features.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer and corporate vehicle motion performance needs and requirements into subsystem requirements and specifications.
• Develop longitudinal and lateral vehicle motion performance attributes for BlueCruise features.
• Develop and validate vehicle motion performance algorithms in-vehicle.
• Create in-vehicle Design Verification Methods for vehicle motion.
• Calibrate vehicle motion performance algorithms in-vehicle.
• Develop in-vehicle toolsets that support development of vehicle motion performance attributes.
• Lead and coordinate root-cause analysis of vehicle motion performance error states.
• Utilize AI tools and agents for data analysis and calibration optimization.
• Travel to Arizona 2-4 weeks annually as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Controls Engineering, or a closely related field.
• 3+ years of in-vehicle lateral or longitudinal motion development experience.
• 3+ years of experience working with MATLAB/Simulink.
• Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and chassis components.
• Ability to lead a small project, demonstrate ownership, and take initiative to further improve features.
