Software Engineer, Business Technology

Anthropic is looking for a Software Engineer, Business Technology to build internal products. This role combines engineering, product, and design, where you will own outcomes, not just tasks. You will work directly with users to understand their needs and build abstractions that unlock capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and ship full-stack features across backend, frontend, and infrastructure
• Collaborate with users and stakeholders to understand workflows and identify high-impact opportunities
• Identify patterns across user requests and develop primitives, platforms, or middleware supporting various use cases
• Build tools that maximize autonomy and creative freedom for less-technical users
• Make product and prioritization decisions
• Iterate quickly based on feedback to improve the user experience
• Adapt to new tools, frameworks, and domains as the product evolves

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building production software, ideally full-stack
• Ability to operate independently and take a product from idea to completion
• System thinking and abstraction skills
• Focus on empowering users
• Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information
• High personal standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, and React
• Experience building platforms, primitives, or internal tools
• Track record of shipping products independently

Logistics

• Annual salary: $320,000 - $405,000 USD
• Minimum education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Location-based hybrid policy: 25% office time
