Senior Software Engineer, Ads

Discord is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Ads team, which focuses on creating innovative ad formats and products. The ideal candidate will help shape the future of digital advertising and marketplace interactions.

The Senior Software Engineer will:

• Design, build, and maintain new Ads products and infrastructure from backend to frontend
• Collaborate with engineers across teams, including Revenue Infrastructure, Core Tech, Machine Learning, and Data Science
• Partner with engineering, product, and cross-functional leadership to develop digital advertising features that drive revenue growth and enhance user engagement
• Architect simple and maintainable systems to enable quick launches and iterations while sustaining high product and technical quality
• Model strong ownership by acting autonomously and introducing coding and operational best practices to the team
• Own projects end-to-end, working with Product and stakeholders to refine requirements, create technical designs, implement changes, and see projects through to launch and maintenance

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience
• A focus on impact, with a sharp eye for changes that can bring a product from good to great
• A sense of ownership, believing in solving problems completely rather than simply shipping a solution
• A growth mindset, viewing mistakes as learning opportunities and building upon successes
• A love of mentorship, helping fellow engineers and providing feedback and guidance

Bonus Points:

• Expertise with Python and/or Rust, Typescript, React, React Native
• Experience in the ad space
• Familiarity with experimentation and analysis
• Contributions to open-source projects
• Interest or passion for the Discord platform

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $196,000 to $220,500 + equity + benefits.
